The Outdoor Education Unit can offer a diverse range of activities according to the needs of the young people. Workers and young people can and are involved in the design of the programme in order to provide client needs are met. Initial meetings are encouraged so that instructors can meet the young people and workers involved to discuss the activities that can be offered and discuss any limitations.

 

Programmes provided in the past have included; One day teambuilding/problem solving. A series of teambuilding days with progression of difficulty. 2, 3 or 4 day camping experiences. Expedition training and expeditions. However, this list is not exhaustive as the unit is very flexible and, as mentioned before, willing to tailor programmes to needs.

The Outdoor Education Unit also has an allotment which can be accessed through contacting the allotment manager on our office number to discuss a programme.

 

The Outdoor Education Unit has a Young People's Project. This has 2 junior groups and 2 senior groups, each group is separate and meet on different days. The junior groups run on Monday evenings from 5.30pm to 8.30 pm and on Saturday mornings 9.00am to 12.30pm, all young people are picked up and dropped off from 3 locations. The senior groups run on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
